Itinerary
- Overview of RSS and what podcasting is
- Discussion of 3 podcasting options: Wimba Podcaster, iTunesU, Blogging
- Review of creating the audio using Audacity or Odeo
- Create a Blog to host podcast using either Blogger or Wordpress
- Post show notes and mp3 file to your blog
- Burn the blog feed with Feedburner
- Create RSS feed link on the blog
- Subscribe to own feed in iTunes
- Survey & Assessment for FPG

How to Podcast from Start to Finish
Step 1: Upload Files to Server
- GCC Web Check with your own Computer Services for information on how to access your instructor service space. Best Option.
- MyPodcast.com or PodBean.com - One stop shop for podcasting. Ads inserted in your podcast. Potential to make money.
- Internet Archive (http://archive.org) provides free hosting and bandwidth. 2nd best option.
- Cox - Not a good option: 7 E-mail Addresses for 10MB Personal Webspace each
- Paid Hosting Account $5.95 per month for 40 gigs.
Good option.
Step 2: Get File URL
What is the location of your mp3 file. This is what you will need to create the podcast on your blog.
Example: http://web.gccaz.edu/~ldcoope2/essaypodcast.mp3 (GCC)
Example: http://odeo.com/show/2362032/1191463/download.mp3 (Odeo)
Example: http://www.archive.org/download/Eng101Podcast/eng101A1rw.mp3 (Internet Archive)
Example: http://www.freshmancomp.com/podcasts/Paper1.mp3 (SiteGround)
Step 3: Create a Blog
Step 4: Create a Post on Blog
Post your show notes about the podcast on your blog. Be sure to add a link to your mp3 file by adding the file URL in the body of your post.
Step 5: Burn Your Feed & Promote
