Creating Video for Vodcasts
Goal: To provide a hands-on experience to shoot video and edit video using various vodcast-creation tools. Support is provided throughout the workshop during the development process.
- Quick overview of vodcasting and equipment options (15 minutes)
- Shoot video using an inexpensive pocket video camcorder (Flip Mino) (30 min)
- Use camcorder to conduct short interviews
- Compose short scenes and record them
- View video in the camcorder
- Upload video from camcorder to a PC (30 min)
- Distinguish between various file formats
- Install provided software for camcorder used
- Use various features of the provided software
- Edit video using provided camcorder software and Windows Movie Maker (45 min)
- Cut out sections and crop the ends of video
- Add photos, music and voiceover to video timeline
- Add transitions & titles
- Combine video clips together into one video
- Edit video using free online video editing site (JumpCut) (20 min)
- Cut out sections and crop the ends of video
- Try out Remix features
- Export video in different file formats (10 min)
- For Windows Media Player
- For online video sharing sites (Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo)
- For CD, DVD or TV.
- Convert video to various formats using Media Converter (10min)
- Podcasting resources and readings (10 minutes)
- Copyright for podcasting (10 minutes)
